Pendleton's Facilities Department adapts support plan in response to COVID-19 - The Facilities Maintenance Department, or FMD, on Camp Pendleton, handles a wide range of problems on base dealing with utilities such as electricity, carpentry, and plumbing. FMD is a 24-hour work-force that takes care of the daily maintenance and operations of the base.

Semper Durus 2018: Exercising Readiness - In the event of a serious emergency, an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is established to ensure that regional command and control is performed to the highest standard. Exercise Semper Durus 2018 is an annual exercise conducted by Marine Corps Base - Camp Pendleton to improve response procedures and limit impact during a crisis situation. Over 200 firefighters with the U.S. Forest Service, Orange County Fire Authority, Cal Fire, and local San Diego County agencies gathered on Camp Pendleton, Calif. to participate in wildfire firefighting methods training, June 5, 2017. This training is conducted to further enhance their abilities to effectively and efficiently combat wildfires. Significant wildland fires throughout San Diego County in October of 2007 lead officials to seek a partnership between military and civilian aviation and firefighting assets to better manage crisis aboard regional military installations and in the surrounding communities. Since then, Camp Pendleton security and safety agencies, and local departments have been working together to streamline response and integrated communication efforts to provide ready, trained and certified military and civilian resources to combat wildland fires in the region, culminating with a cooperative effort to extinguish wildland fires.(U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - The Las Pulgas fire first reported at 3:15 p.m. Thursday has grown to 8,000 acres burned and 5% contained. Evacuation orders for Camp Las Pulgas, Camp Margarita, Camp Las Flores and 32 Area remain in effect. The Las Pulgas gate remains closed to all traffic except emergency vehicles. Stuart Mesa Road north of Assault Craft Unit-5 remains closed. Basilone Road from Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton to Camp Horno, as well as Las Pulgas Road remain closed.
