Deputy Fire Chief Ryan Tworek, with Fire and Emergency Services, works with firefighters to reset the Drager Phase 1 System, before the next rotation of firefighters enter the system to recreate more fire and smoke behaviors during training aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, California, March 30. The firefighters would douse the old wood and coals, then reload the Drager system with new wood, closing it up, then stoking the fresh wood into flames using a torch. The vents on the top and back, as well as the doors, are used to control the amount of air the fire gets, in order to manipulate the fire and smoke behaviors. This allows firefighters to experience real-life hazardous events, such as full burn-overs, and zero visibility, in a safe and controlled environment.

Many major life events, or action points, will trigger a requirement for Financial Education Action Point (FEAP) training. By LAW (Title 10; Section 992) and policy (DoDI 1322.34, SECNAVINST 1740.4A), all Marines must complete financial education at these specific action points. If you have reached one of these points in your career, you will receive a notification in Marine On-Line. Contact your installation Personal Financial Manager or your unit Command Financial Specialist to complete the required training.

Puller (ESB-3), April 20. Joint training between Task Force 51/5 and Task Force Spartan creates flexibility for crisis response in the U.S. CENTCOM area of operations. TF 51/5 is a Joint Task Force-capable headquarters that responds to crises and contingencies; coordinates, plans, and executes operations; conducts theater security cooperation; and advances emerging Naval concepts at sea, from the sea, and ashore.
